Acoustic slat wall panels
An acoustic slat wall panel is a wood-veneer slatted wall covering with a sound-absorbing polyester felt backing: it reduces echo while giving your wall or ceiling a natural wooden surface.

Good to know
Sound absorption ≠ soundproofing
The acoustic panel is sound-absorbing: it reduces echo and reverberation within the room. That is what makes speech clearer on video calls, film sound cleaner in the living room, and restaurants or offices calmer.
On its own it does not block noise coming from a neighbouring room: that is a matter of soundproofing, which needs a structural wall solution. If you need help with that too, we can show you the difference with real examples in our showroom.
Construction: 3 layers
- 1 Wood veneer slats
A natural, stained wood surface, in 7 colours.
- 2 MDF core (CARB P2)
A certified board with low formaldehyde emissions.
- 3 Polyester felt backing
This is the sound-absorbing layer: it absorbs the sound that gets in between the slats.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does an acoustic slat wall panel do?
Sound entering the gaps between the slats is absorbed by the polyester felt backing: echo and reverberation in the room decrease, and speech and music sound clearer. On its own it does not provide soundproofing (keeping out the neighbours’ noise).
How much area do I need to cover to hear a difference?
Rule of thumb: if you install panels covering 15–25 per cent of the room’s floor area, the improvement is clearly audible. For a 20 m² room that means 2–3 panels on the right wall or on the ceiling.
Is it better on the wall or on the ceiling?
Both work. The ceiling is the largest continuous hard surface, so echo reduction is most effective there. The panels can be fixed with adhesive or with screws.
Can acoustic panels go in a bathroom?
We don’t recommend them for humid or wet rooms, because the wood veneer and the MDF are not waterproof. Fully waterproof PVC wall panels are the right choice there.
