Dark Grey Acoustic Slat Panel

The Dark Grey Acoustic Slat Panel is a graphite-toned slatted panel with sound-absorbing felt: an elegant, echo-reducing cover for home cinemas and TV walls.

The deep, dark grey surface makes the wall ‘disappear’ behind the screen: it does not distract you while you watch, and the felt backing soaks up the room’s reverberation, so film soundtracks and music sound clearer and more defined. Combined with metallic and wooden decorative pieces, it is distinctly elegant in a living room too.

Construction and how it works

• Wood veneer slats stained dark grey, on an MDF core (CARB P2)
• Polyester felt backing: this is the sound-absorbing layer
• Echo dies away faster: the deeper, clearer sound is most audible in a home cinema

Technical data

• Panel size: 2700 × 600 × 21 mm (1.62 m² per panel)
• Can be fitted to walls and ceilings
• Fixing with adhesive or with screws
• For indoor use, made from environmentally friendly materials

Installation and care

In a home cinema, the wall behind the screen and the front section of the ceiling are the most effective surfaces. Dust shows less on the dark surface; care means dry dusting. Use a fine-toothed blade for cutting so the edge of the veneer stays clean.

Frequently asked questions

Will it really make my home cinema sound better?

The panel reduces the room’s echo: dialogue becomes clearer and the bass ‘smears’ less. It does not replace good speakers, but it audibly sorts out the room’s acoustics.

Won’t it make the room too dark?

On a single wall, the dark tone adds depth, not gloom, especially if the other walls stay light. For covering a whole room, Forest Grey is the better recommendation.

What lighting shows it off best?

Grazing light from an LED strip or track spotlights: light coming from the side, together with the shadows of the slats, gives the surface a sculpted look.

You can see the Dark Grey panel in person at the showrooms in Budaörs and Békéscsaba; we deliver it with the Lumina manufacturer’s warranty.
