Product description
The Travertine PVC Wall Panel is a matt wall covering with the veining of Mediterranean travertine: a 3 mm, 100% waterproof sheet, glued on with no grouting.
Travertine is the classic bathroom stone, and this panel gives you the same calm, layered pattern without demolition, masonry work or sealing. Its matt surface does not reflect and does not show fingerprints, which makes it a favourite for spa-style bathrooms, shower walls and kitchen splashbacks.
Technical features
- Sheet size: 3000 × 1220 × 3 mm; one sheet covers 3.66 m²
- Matt, non-reflective travertine pattern in a warm beige tone
- 100% waterproof and mould-resistant; there is no grout, so limescale has less to cling to
- Heat-resistant up to 80 °C; for indoor use
Installation
In showers and on wet walls, the proven build-up is: primer, two coats of liquid waterproofing membrane with corner reinforcement tape (Mapei system), then dabs of adhesive and tinted sanitary silicone at the joints. On a dry wall it can simply be bonded; it can even be cut with a utility knife.
Cleaning
On a shower wall, keep soap residue in check with a squeegee and mild soapy water; for limescale, a vinegar-based descaler can be used. The matt surface does not need scrubbing, and does not tolerate it either.
Frequently asked questions
Can I clad a whole shower enclosure with it?
Yes, this is one of its main uses: the 3-metre sheet covers the shower wall in one piece, with no horizontal joins, combined with a liquid waterproofing membrane.
How is it better than real travertine?
It is not porous, so it does not soak up water and needs no sealing; there is no grout to turn grey; and it weighs a fraction of what stone does, so it can go onto plasterboard.
Does the surface hold up to cleaning with a descaler?
The surface is chemical-resistant: it copes with vinegar-based descalers and neutral cleaners without any problem; just avoid strong acids, alkalis and scouring powder.
You can see the Travertine panel in person at our showrooms in Budaörs and Békéscsaba; it comes with the Lumina manufacturer’s warranty and we deliver from stock.
